I tested whether Linux supports the same IP address on two interfaces and it worked for me! I was able to set the same IP address and netmask for the ethernet to WLAN interface.
Based on that:- Can somebody double check whether it is indeed the case?
- If so, whether it works also for the PPP interface?
If everything is fine, then I think that just by manipulating the routing tables, we can direct the outgoing traffic to a desired interface.

It works with eth/ppp interfaces.
