Description
If we're going to model 3G user equipment (UE) interacting with WLAN nodes, we definitely should integrate 3G physical and MAC layers into the model.
It could be done using EURANE additions (patch to ns-2.30), patched to work without MATLAB pre- and postprocessing. I have an article about these additions, it's attached here for informational purposes.
EURANE additions allow us to have many interacting 3G UEs, and even primitive handover.
Goals:- Integrate the patch into ns-2.33, and add that to repository. Make sure the patch doesn't break anything and validates according to ns-2 and EURANE test suites. /16hr
- Explore sample models utilizing EURANE modeling, and add EURANE modeling code to our model. We'd rather have one 3G and one WLAN node, this is enough for beginning. /8hr
- If EURANE additions prove useful (if we see considerable differences between 3G and WLAN nodes while modeling), we would keep them in the model.

EURANE package doesn't integrate well with Q2S multi-interface additions (or so it seems).
Additional debugging is needed for 3g-3g model to work in the full version of modified simulator.
