Pskov School №21

On April 11 our team made first introduction lesson in school №21

At the moment there is 6 XO-1 laptop at school.
Teachers at that school used to be a bit passive -- may be because Medialaboratory and OSLL took them laptops and did'n teach how to use its. But I'm sure that now they are ready to learn and teach XO-philosophy :) and in using laptops as a learning instrument.

  • First of all, we connected XO-s to our adaptor and charged laptops
  • Next we taught our teachers some basic laptop things, e.g. Activities, Journal, shared applications.
  • At the end we focused on Scratch activity and created some programs.
What was really nice:
  • our teachers understood technical stuffs very quickly
  • they loooked excited and interested
  • there was one guy, 9-10th year pupil and one veeeery little boy Ruslan. Ruslan really rocks!!
    What is need to be fixed:
  • typical teacher's fears that are related to technic. It will be the most difficult problem.
Our plans:
  • set up wireless connection between XOs and school server (they have Access Point)
  • continue our XO-cources
  • prepare school №21 to the next OLPC camp!
